As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”

FLC TV - September 18 Sermon - Genesis 6: Awkward Family Photos (Pt 3), God’s Patience with Humanity

Genesis 4:8-12: The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. Genesis 4:8-12: Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

Luke 14:1-4: One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. There in front of him was a man suffering from abnormal swelling of his body. Women's Bible Study Begins June 8th

On June 8th the Women's Bible Study group at First Lutheran begins a Kay Arthur 7-session study on Galatians: As the gospel spread across the Roman world in the first decades after Jesus’ earthly ministry, conflict arose. Jews and Gentiles were believing the gospel, and a struggle over what it meant to be a Christian began. What does it mean to live under grace? Do you have to keep the Law to be a Christian? All of it or just part of it? Who is right? How will we know?  God used an apostle to write a letter to some churches that were struggling with this issue, a letter that still speaks today. Its message clearly defines the relationship between Law and grace, and how Christians live under grace, led by the Spirit, free from bondage.

This study meets on Thursday mornings in the Fellowship Hall from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a..m.. The cost of the member book is $17. If you are interested in joining this study, contact the church office.
